Fun Palaces is returning to Sheffield this month, with events across the city popping up and encouraging lots of free family fun, all weekend.
Fun Palaces is an ongoing campaign for culture at the heart of the community and community at the heart of culture, with an annual weekend of action every October. Since 2014 there have been over 572 Fun Palaces, created by, for and with local communities – free, hands-on arts, science, craft, tech and digital events celebrating the passions of local people, with hundreds of thousands of people taking part.
Fun Palaces has five ambassadors across the UK, with Sheffield Theatres taking the reins in Sheffield. As part of this, the organisation works with communities and partners in the city to encourage participation in Fun Palaces activity and to co-deliver a series of public events.
