As you may know, we have been involved with the campaign to save 162-170 Devonshire Street from demolition. Two exciting fundraising events are happening this week in support of the campaign. The money raised from both events will help fund extensive legal costs. We hope to mount a judicial review in order to overturn the planning decision to demolish these beloved buildings.

A few fundraising events have already taken place this month at established Sheffield locations. They’ve been very popular so far and have got the fundraising bid off to a great start. But there’s plenty more to come…

The Harley
kicks things off this Thursday (25th), with a night of music from some of Sheffield’s finest DJ’s. So far the line-up includes Dankle (OMN), Babestation (OMN), Rubiconman (DubCafe), Shorty (LSS) and Autograff (LSS). Single tickets are a steal at £3, while it’s £5 for a ticket and a raffle ticket. Raffle prizes include a Syd & Mallory voucher, with more to be confirmed. More info

The second event is Going Once, Going Twice, Gone! an auction of original artwork from some of Sheffield’s famous artists at Theatre Deli on the Moor this Friday (26th). There will also be a raffle with prizes from local businesses, as well as plenty of food and drink to enjoy. If bidding isn’t really your thing, don’t worry – there will also be DJs and dancing until late.

Some of the confirmed artists include the world-renowned Phlegm, photographer Chris Saunders and illustrator Pete Mckee. With starting bids from just a fiver, you could get your hands on some original artwork and still have money left over for celebratory drinks. More info

If you can’t make it to either of these, please donate generously to the crowdfunding campaign. If you donate £10, you will receive a digital album feature over 50 tracks of local music from the likes of 65DaysofStatic, Hey Sholay, Nat Johnson, The Everly Pregnant Brothers, King Capisce, Blood Sport and Chris Watson. Some previews available here. Full tracklist and more info here.

If you’re feeling extra generous and want to donate more, you can get some original artwork which has been kindly donated by Sheffield artists. Take a look. If you’ve been thinking about donating but haven’t gotten round to it yet, now’s the time.
