Sheffield Half Pint Marathon

Now this is our kind of marathon.

If you’ve spent any time flicking through the pages of Now Then magazine you’ll have noticed we’re big fans of real ale, just one of the many reasons we’re so happy to be in Sheffield. So when we heard there was a way to raise money for charity by drinking aforementioned beverage, the atmosphere in the office was, shall we say, cheerful.

How could this possibly be, we hear you cry, well thanks to the Forum Family and the Thornbridge crew teaming up in May for a month long celebration of local real ale breweries and pubs with proceeds from the specially brewed pale session ale ‘Stitch’ going to charity.

People will be able to pick up their marathon card at participating venues and then all you have to do is have a drink in each over the course of May – simple! Money from beer sales and events will be donated to the excellent St Luke’s Hospice, Roundabout, The Children’s Hospital and Bluebell Wood. Once you’ve ticked all the venues off your card you can enter it into the prize draw for some wonderful goodies including brewery tours, tasting sessions, beer and more.

Want to get involved? Of course you do. Keep an eye on the Facebook page and follow #halfpintsheff for updates but most importantly, head along to one of the venues and start supping. It’s for charity y’know.
