2Weeks 2Make It

Calling all filmmakers and musicians, now in its 7th year, the applications for 2Weeks 2Make It are open for business – what is it? Well it’s a bit like an episode of Blind Date but instead of resulting in a painfully awkward evening compensated for by too much red wine and ending in a trip to the clinic, it resulting in a fortnight of hard work and collaboration that ends in a music video and, for one lucky team, 500 quid. The last winners were Sea Monster eyes and filmmaker Rob Gravenor for this video to the song ‘Boat I Row’:

The competition has been organised since 2006 by the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network who run a number of events and competitions for filmmakers in the area as well as much more. Filmmakers and musicians apply separately – the deadline for which is 6th March 2015 – and are then randomly paired up. At which point they have two weeks (do you see what they did there?) to make and submit to the competition a completed music video.

It’s a collaborative process so the musicians are not expected to hand over a song and disappear but instead work alongside their filmmaker in every stage of the creative process. Sound like fun? You can apply here.

Good Luck!
